Jim Jones è un chitarrista statunitense nato a Cleveland, Ohio. È noto principalmente per il suo lavoro con la band post-punk Pere Ubu, con cui ha collaborato dal 1975 al 1980 e successivamente in periodi sporadici fino al 2000. Jones è stato uno dei membri fondatori del gruppo e ha contribuito a definire il loro sound sperimentale e innovativo, caratterizzato da influenze noise rock, krautrock e avant-garde. Oltre al suo lavoro con Pere Ubu, Jones ha anche collaborato con altri artisti indipendenti e ha pubblicato alcuni album solisti. Tra i brani più rappresentativi di Jim Jones con Pere Ubu si ricordano "Street Waves", "Final Solution" e "Non-Alignment Pact".
