Dad: First was me
Mom: Then was we
(the son and daughter come out)
Mom and Dad: Then was them
All: And that made all of us
And we're a family!
A family!
A family!
Each loves the other
Mother, father, sister, brother!
(they run back behind the screen, then come out again in a repeat of the above, only in different outfits, and each one in a different role.)
Dad: First was me
Mom: Then was we
(the son and daughter come out)
Mom and Dad: Then was them
All: And that made all of us
And we're a family!
A family!
A family!
Each loves the other
Mother, father, sister, brother!
And the dooooog came later on
And so did the cat
And the goldfish
And the turtle and the frog
And the car (don't forget about that)
Until we moved and we sold it
(back behind the screen to change outfits and identities.)
Dad: First was me
Mom: Then was we
(the son and daughter come out)
Mom and Dad: Then was them
All: And that made all of us
And we're a family!
A family!
A family!
Each loves the other
Mother, father, sister, brother!
(back behind the screen, this time coming out dressed as the animals.)
And the dooooog came later on
And so did the cat
And the goldfish
And the turtle and the frog
And the car (don't forget about that)
Until we moved and we sold it
Dad: First was me
Mom: Then was we
Mom and Dad: Then was them
All: And that made all of us
And we're a family!
A family!
A family!
Each loves the other
Mother, father, sister, brother!
It's plain to seeeeee
That we're just a perfectly ordinary
Ordinarily perfect
(Spin around, change outfits)
Perfectly ordinary
Ordinarily perfect
(Spin and change again)
Perfectly ordinary
Ordinarily perfect
(Spin and change again)
FAMILY!
(At that they look at themselves, the last change leaves them wildly mixed up, the girl has a big black mustache, the dad in a wig and ribbons, everything mismatched.)
