Grover: Elmo, Elmo, Elmo!
Elmo: Yeah, Grover?
Grover: Hey, hey, it is time for me to tell you about my favorite color.
Elmo: Oh, Elmo would be happy to hear about Grover's favorite color.
Grover: Good.
Elmo: Just as soon as Elmo tells Grover all about Elmo's favorite color. (music starts)
Grover: Oh, okay.
Elmo: Do do do-do....
(sung)
Red can be a fire engine zooming down the street
Red can be a pretty-smelling rose
(someone, don't think it's Grover, takes a whiff, and goes "ahhhhh")
Red can be the sunset as the day becomes complete
Red can be the color of your nose
(someone sneezes)
And also, red can be the color of your favorite toy balloon
Floating just as pretty as can be (cute-little-Elmo-giggle)
And also, red can be the color that is best of all
Red is the color of me!
(spoken)
Grover: That was very nice, Elmo.
Elmo: Oh, thank you, Grover.
Grover: Now, please, let me tell you about MY favorite color, okay?
(sung)
Blue can be the color of the beautiful blue sky
And also, blue can be the color of some beautiful blue eyes
And also, blue can be the color of the ocean where you swim
Blue can be the ink in your pen
Yeah for blue, let's sing it again
Blue can be the color of your Daddy's favorite suit
Yes it can
And also, blue can be the color of some fur that's very cute
Blue, the only color that's spelled B - L - U - E
And also, blue is the color of me!
(spoken)
Elmo: You know Grover, Elmo likes blue, too!
Grover: I'm rather fond of red!
(sung with voices overlapping)
Elmo: Blue can be the color of the beautiful blue sky
And also, blue, can be the color of some beautiful blue eyes
And also, blue can be the color of the ocean where you swim
Blue can be the ink in your pen
Yeah for blue, let's sing it again
And red can be the color of your favorite toy balloon
Floating just as pretty as can be
And also, red can be the color the best thing of all
Red is the color of me!
Grover: Red can be a fire engine zooming down the street
Red can be a pretty-smelling rose
Red can be the sunset as the day becomes complete
Red can be the color of your nose
And also, blue, can be the color of your Daddy's favorite suit
And also, blue can be the color of some fur that's very cute
Blue, the only color that's spelled B - L - U - E
And also, blue is the color of me!
(spoken as they leave)
Grover: Oh, I really like your red fur.
Elmo: And Elmo really likes your blue fur, Grover.
Grover: Oh, that's very kind of you, Elmo, but I really like your red fur.
