Considerato uno dei principali esponenti del drill chicagoano, ha raggiunto fama internazionale con mixtape come "Signed to the Streets" e album come "Just Cause Y'all Waited 2". La sua musica spesso esplora temi di violenza urbana, vita difficile e lotta per la sopravvivenza. Lil Durk è noto per il suo flow aggressivo e le rime introspettive, che lo hanno reso un punto di riferimento per una nuova generazione di rapper.
