Ja Rule, pseudonimo di Jeffrey Bruce Atkins, è un rapper e attore statunitense nato a New York nel 1976. Attivo dal tardo anni '90, ha raggiunto la fama con il suo album di debutto *Venni Vetti Vecci* (2000) che includeva successi come «Between Me and You» e «Always on Time». Il suo stile musicale è caratterizzato da un flow aggressivo e testi spesso incentrati sulla vita nelle strade di New York. Nel 2004 ha collaborato con Ashanti per il singolo «Mesmerize», che ha raggiunto la vetta delle classifiche Billboard Hot 100.
