A Tribe Called Quest è un gruppo hip hop statunitense formatosi nel 1988 a Queens, New York. Composto da Q-Tip (MC), Phife Dawg (MC) e Ali Shaheed Muhammad (produttore), il gruppo ha pubblicato cinque album in studio, dei quali i primi tre sono stati accolti con grande successo di critica e hanno avuto un'influenza significativa sulla scena hip hop degli anni '90. Il loro album di debutto, *People's Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm* (1990), non ebbe inizialmente successo commerciale e ricevette recensioni miste. Tuttavia, con il tempo è stato riconosciuto come un album fondamentale del genere, grazie a brani come "Can I Kick It?", che ha raggiunto una popolarità anche al di fuori della scena hip hop. Altri album importanti includono *The Low End Theory* (1991) e *Midnight Marauders* (1993), entrambi considerati capolavori del genere.
