I Deftones sono un gruppo musicale statunitense formatosi a Sacramento, California, nel 1988. Composti da Chino Moreno (voce), Stephen Carpenter (chitarra), Abe Cunningham (batteria) e Chi Cheng (basso, deceduto nel 2013), il gruppo ha raggiunto fama internazionale grazie al suo sound caratterizzato da un mix di metal alternativo, shoegaze e post-rock. Dopo anni di concerti locali e l'uscita del primo EP "The Deftones", hanno firmato con la Maverick Records nel 1995. Il loro album di debutto, "Adrenaline", ha riscosso successo immediato, consolidando il loro posto nell'underground musicale.
