Kendrick Lamar Duckworth, noto semplicemente come Kendrick Lamar, è un rapper, cantautore e produttore discografico statunitense nato a Compton, in California, nel 1987. Considerato uno dei rapper più influenti e innovativi della sua generazione, Lamar ha guadagnato fama internazionale per le sue performance intense, i testi poetici e la capacità di affrontare temi sociali complessi come razzismo, povertà e violenza. Il suo album di debutto, *Section.80* (2011), ha attirato l'attenzione della critica e del pubblico, mentre il suo secondo album, *good kid, m.A.A.d city* (2012), è stato un successo commerciale e critico, vincendo numerosi premi, tra cui i Grammy Award per la migliore performance rap e il miglior album rap.
