Absu è una band di black metal proveniente da Plano, Texas, Stati Uniti. I loro primi lavori si avvicinavano ad un sound death metal, ma più recentemente hanno incorporato sonorità black e thrash metal con influenze celtiche e folk (che definiscono come "Mythological Occult Metal"). I temi dei loro testi sono essoterici, includendo miti e leggende celtiche, miti e leggende sumeri, magia, armi e stregoneria. Tra i brani più rappresentativi si possono citare "The Serpent's Curse", "Absu" e "The Throne of the Gods".
Il comparto sonoro è uno degli elementi più importanti ma meno notati nel mondo del videogioco.
