De La Soul è un gruppo hip hop innovativo proveniente da New York, noto per aver introdotto una vena di positività in un genere allora dominato da intensità e mascolinità esagerata. Dal loro famoso debutto, hanno pubblicato una manciata di album eccellenti, consolidando la loro posizione tra i gruppi hip hop più importanti di sempre. Il gruppo è composto da Posdnuos, Trugoy the Dove (deceduto nel 2023) e Maseo. I loro testi sono caratterizzati da un approccio giocoso e sperimentale, spesso incentrato su temi sociali e filosofici.
