Firewind è una band di power metal greca formatasi nel 1998 come progetto del chitarrista Gus G. per promuovere il suo album demo *Nocturnal Symphony*. Nel 2001 la formazione si è consolidata con l'uscita dell'album *Between Heaven and Hell*. Nel corso degli anni, la band ha attraversato diverse fasi di cambiamento nella sua line-up, fino al definitivo stabilirsi dopo il quinto album, *Allegiance*, con il cantante Apollo Papathanasio. Con questa formazione hanno registrato due album: *The Premonition* e *Immortals*. Firewind è considerata una delle band più importanti del panorama power metal europeo, apprezzata per la sua musica potente, melodica e tecnica.
