Funkmaster Flex, vero nome Aston Taylor, è un DJ e produttore discografico statunitense nato a New York nel 1968. Considerato uno dei pionieri del turntablism, ha contribuito in modo significativo allo sviluppo dell'hip hop negli anni '90. Iniziò la sua carriera come DJ nei club di Harlem prima di ottenere fama nazionale grazie al suo programma radiofonico "The Flex Show" su Hot 97. Il suo stile energico e innovativo, che includeva scratching, beat juggling e mix audaci, ha influenzato generazioni di DJ e artisti hip hop. Flex è noto per le sue interviste iconiche con rapper di fama mondiale come Jay-Z, Nas e Eminem, contribuendo a lanciare la carriera di molti artisti emergenti. Oltre alla sua attività radiofonica, Flex ha prodotto diversi album e singoli di successo, collaborando con artisti come Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg e 50 Cent.
