Yeah, big heart
(In my city, I'm the)
(In my city, I'm the)
Yeah, have you ever felt so underestimated
Once you make it, it don't even live up to your expectations (Woo)
You got everything you wanted
Yeah, you famous, you amazing
But inside you see a version that you can't relate with
This life a pressure cooker, but I ain't domesticated
I can barely make some scrambled eggs but I got all the bacon
Wide awake and I can't sleep 'cause my heart is racing
Even when I'm on the top, it feel just like I'm in the basement
Put the team up on my back, watch me run the track
Going through this paper like I got a fax
Feeling like my best became a artifact, carving glass
They gon' study this shit in a century
But 'til that day, I gotta blast
Jimmy Neutron, got my dancing shoes on
I work hard so I never have to put a suit on
Got fans, they surrounding me just like I'm Susan
Been to every state, that's word to Sufjan
In my city, I'm the god
In my city, I'm the prince
In my city, I'm the man
In my city, I'm the shit
In my city, I'm the hometown kid
In my city, I'm the hometown kid
In my city, I'm the man
In my city, I'm the god
In my city, rolling with me
In my city, going hard
In my city, I'm the hometown kid
In my city, I'm the hometown kid
Check it, yeah
Long Island, that's the place I was raised
Get me started, I could probably talk about it for days
The original bagel boss, put some beats on the side
Got that '97 Honda, that's forever my ride
But forever ain't forever, some people change for the better
Some people change like the weather
I'll probably throw on a sweater
And pull up to any local establishment
If they ask what I want, I look at the menu and
I'm having it
My goal was not to blow up, just not to blow out my brains
'Cause if I couldn't create, I'd probably go insane
Sometimes I wish all my demons go away, but if they did
Would I still look at life the same way and appreciate?
I hope I'm never jaded
I hope I never fade into the background of your playlist
Like "Where he go? What's the status?"
Don't it make you feel like one of the greatest? I am
Bitch, I made it
In my city, I'm the god
In my city, I'm the prince
In my city, I'm the man
In my city, I'm the shit
In my city, I'm the hometown kid
In my city, I'm the hometown kid
In my city, I'm the man
In my city, I'm the god
In my city, rolling with me
In my city, going hard
In my city, I'm the hometown kid
In my city, I'm the hometown kid
This is a love story to all my old memories
Fake friends who would turn to cold enemies
If yo jealousy was a new currency
I could buy a big house out in Yosemite
This a love story to my reality
Got real fans, I treat 'em like family
If I'm helping you, just know that you helping me
I guess this shit was really meant to be
I guess this shit was really meant to be
In my city, I'm the god
In my city, I'm the prince
In my city, I'm the man
In my city, I'm the shit
In my city, I'm the hometown kid
In my city, I'm the hometown kid
In my city, I'm the man
In my city, I'm the god
In my city, rolling with me
In my city, going hard
In my city, I'm the hometown kid
In my city, I'm the hometown kid
I'm the hometown kid
I'm the hometown kid
I'm the hometown kid
Yeah, yeah
In my city, I'm the
In my city, I'm the
