Attivo dal tardo anni '80 fino al primo decennio del XXI secolo, Chubb Rock ha raggiunto il successo con l'album d'esordio *“True Love”* (1991), che ha venduto oltre un milione di copie negli Stati Uniti. Il suo stile musicale si caratterizza per una combinazione di rap old school e nuove sonorità hip hop, spesso accompagnato da testi ironici e divertenti.
