Daddy-Os and good ol' gals
Gather 'round and let me tell you a tale
This is your host with the most
Billy, oh-he-got-soul, Mercury
You listenin' to radio's best
WXOR 94 Star Power
Groovin' with Xavier Omär's soulful new jam "Keepin' Me"
I be doing so much wrong
I need you to help me change my heart
Focus on you, fix my mind
You're there every time (You're there every time)
You're there when I'd rather you not be
'Cause I'm tryna hide
On my days that are rocky, how do I survive?
Because you (Because you) stay true (Stay true, ahh)
To your word and your love and I'm grateful
'Cause even when I
I think I'm good I'm not, but you come through
And you keep on keepin' me down
I rise, I fall, but through it all you're there
And you keep on keepin' me down
Keep on, on (Yes, you do, my Lord)
Keepin' me
Ridin' 'round and I keep me a bad thang
Good thing she takin' my last name
You've been lookin' out and kept me from my past ways
From my past days, a new pathway, oh (Ooh)
Hold me close 'cause I need it
(Givin' you the best that I've got)
It's time you see it (From me)
All that you want
Because you (Because you) stay true (Stay true, ahh)
To your word and your love and I'm grateful
'Cause even when I
I think I'm good I'm not, but you come through
And you keep on keepin' me down
I rise, I fall, but through it all you're there
And you keep on keepin' me down
Keep on, on (Yes, you do, my Lord)
Keepin' me (Keepin' me)
Now, to all my listeners
Just tunin' in to WXOR 94 Star Power
You heard it here first
The extraordinary, extremely talented Xavier Omär's smash hit, "Keepin' Me"
You know who's on the ones and twos
That brotha Sango, always bringin' that biscuit groove, man
Aw yeah, man, this send me back to Studio 54
Minus the other stuff
But I'ma tell ya, man
You probably askin' yourself, "Keepin' me from what?"
Well, let me tell you, here it is
Hurt, harm, danger, temptation
And I ain't talkin' David Ruffin, unless you're up to somethin'
And the Merc-man is never frontin'
So Daddy-Os and good ol' gals
Gather 'round and let me tell you to tell somebody
