Owl City è un progetto musicale indie/synth pop statunitense creato da Adam Young nel 2007. Inizialmente attivo come artista indipendente, ha pubblicato due album prima di firmare con la Republic Records. La svolta arriva nel 2009 con l'album di debutto discografico *Ocean Eyes*, che raggiunge il successo internazionale grazie al singolo *Fireflies*. Il brano diventa un fenomeno globale, conquistando quattro dischi di platino negli Stati Uniti e consacrando Owl City come uno dei nomi più importanti del synth pop contemporaneo. *Ocean Eyes* viene certificato disco di platino nel paese nel mese di aprile 2010. Young continua a pubblicare musica con Owl City, esplorando sonorità elettroniche e atmosfere introspettive.
