The Streets sono il progetto musicale di Mike Skinner, rapper e produttore discografico britannico nato a Birmingham nel 1974. Attivo dal 2000 al 2011, ha rivoluzionato la scena hip-hop britannica con un sound crudo e realistico che rifletteva la vita quotidiana delle working class inglesi. Skinner si distingue per testi incisivi e poetici, spesso ispirati alle sue esperienze personali e alla realtà sociale del suo paese. I suoi album, come "Original Pirate Material" (2002) e "A Grand Don't Come for Free" (2004), sono considerati pietre miliari della musica britannica contemporanea. Tra i brani più rappresentativi: "Has It Come to This?", "Let's Push Things Forward", "Blinded by the Lights". Skinner ha collaborato con artisti come Dizzee Rascal e Amy Winehouse, influenzando generazioni di musicisti.
