Mortification è un gruppo musicale cristiano metal australiano formatosi nel 1990 da membri della precedente band Lightforce degli anni '80: Steve Rowe, Cameron Hall e Jayson Sherlock. Considerati pionieri del genere christian metal, hanno influenzato numerose band contemporanee. Il loro sound si caratterizza per l'uso di riff heavy metal aggressivi, testi con temi biblici e un approccio musicale potente e spirituale. Tra i brani più rappresentativi figurano "Blood of the Lamb", "The Serpent" e "God of War". Mortification ha pubblicato numerosi album tra cui "Scream for Vengeance" (1992), "For the Bridegroom" (1994) e "Transcendence" (1997).
