Sir Raymond Douglas Davies, noto come Ray Davies, è un cantante, cantautore e musicista britannico nato a Hounslow, Londra, nel 1944. È principalmente conosciuto come leader e compositore dei Kinks, gruppo rock britannico di successo internazionale formato con suo fratello Dave Davies negli anni '60. Ray Davies ha scritto la maggior parte delle canzoni dei Kinks, caratterizzate da un sound distintivo che mescola elementi di rock and roll, pop, folk e musica psichedelica. Tra le loro hit più famose figurano "You Really Got Me", "All Day and All of the Night", "Lola" e "Waterloo Sunset". Oltre alla sua carriera musicale, Davies ha anche recitato, diretto e prodotto spettacoli teatrali e televisivi. Nel 2004 è stato nominato Cavaliere dell'Impero Britannico per i suoi contributi alla musica.
