Sir George Ivan Morrison, noto come Van Morrison, è un cantautore, polistrumentista e paroliere nordirlandese nato a Belfast nel 1945. Considerato uno dei più influenti artisti della musica popolare del XX secolo, Morrison ha attraversato diversi generi musicali, dal folk rock al jazz, passando per il blues e la soul. La sua carriera, iniziata negli anni '60 con i Them, lo ha visto raggiungere fama internazionale con album come "Astral Weeks" (1968), considerato un capolavoro del genere psichedelico, e "Moondance" (1970), che lo consacrò come uno dei cantautori più amati al mondo. Morrison è noto per la sua voce potente e distintiva, le sue melodie memorabili e i testi poetici spesso ispirati alla vita quotidiana, all'amore e alla spiritualità.
