Madlib, pseudonimo di Otis Jackson Jr., è un beatmaker, produttore discografico, rapper e polistrumentista statunitense nato a Los Angeles nel 1973. Considerato uno dei più influenti produttori hip hop contemporanei, Madlib è noto per il suo stile eclettico che fonde elementi jazz, funk, soul, psychedelia e musica elettronica. Inizia la sua carriera negli anni '90 collaborando con artisti come De La Soul e A Tribe Called Quest. Nel 2004 fonda il collettivo hip hop Lootpack insieme a DJ Romes e Wildchild. Madlib è anche membro del duo rap Jurassic 5 e ha lavorato con un'ampia gamma di artisti, tra cui MF DOOM, Snoop Dogg, Kanye West e Freddie Gibbs. Tra i suoi album più importanti figurano "Shades of Blue" (2003), "Madvillainy" (2004) in collaborazione con MF DOOM e "Medicine Show" (2019). Alcuni dei suoi brani più rappresentativi sono "The Beatnuts - Check the Rhime", "MF DOOM - Rhymes Like Dimes", "Jurassic 5 - What's Golden".
