The National sono un gruppo musicale indie rock statunitense formatosi a Cincinnati nel 1999. La band è composta da Matt Berninger (voce), dai fratelli Aaron e Bryce Dessner (chitarra), Scott Devendorf (basso) e Bryan Devendorf (batteria). Conosciuti per le loro melodie malinconiche, testi introspettivi e arrangiamenti orchestrali, The National hanno raggiunto un'ampia popolarità negli anni 2000. Tra i loro album più importanti figurano *Boxer* (2007), *High Violet* (2010) e *Trouble Will Find Me* (2013). Brani rappresentativi includono "Fake Empire", "Bloodbuzz Ohio" e "Mr. November".
