NoMeansNo è un gruppo musicale canadese di genere progressive punk rock originario di Victoria, Columbia Britannica, e ora con sede a Vancouver. Attivo dal 1983, il gruppo è noto per la sua musica complessa, sperimentale e spesso politicamente carica. I membri fondatori sono Rob Wright (voce, chitarra), John Wright (basso) e Doris Wishart (batteria). NoMeansNo ha pubblicato numerosi album in studio, tra cui "Wrong" (1986), "The World Beneath the Floor" (1990) e "Ossuarium" (2003), che hanno contribuito a definire il suono del progressive punk. Il gruppo è stato influenzato da band come The Residents, Wire e Black Flag, ma ha sviluppato un sound unico e riconoscibile. NoMeansNo è considerato uno dei gruppi più importanti della scena musicale canadese indipendente.

Nel 2023, oltre il 70% delle canzoni entrate nella Billboard Hot 100 aveva avuto un'origine virale su piattaforme social prima di ricevere attenzione radiofonica.
Il 28 aprile 1986 la cantante Graziella Franchini, in arte Lolita, veniva ritrovata esanime e sfigurata nella camera del residence di Lamezia Terme in cui viveva ormai da un pò di tempo. L'omicidio è rimasto privo di colpevoli.
