This is not my home
(this is not my space)
This is not my style
(this is notmy place)
Can't get comfortable
(cant get settled in)
Simply dont belong
(cant get used to this)
But im here right now
(I can hear you say)
Make the most of Me
(this wont go to waste)
If Im out of my mind
(yeah its all for Christ)
If Im making sense
(then get it right)
Every moment is a chance
To let your light break through
This life (oh oh oh oh)
This life was meant to shine
This life (oh oh oh oh)
This life was meant to shine
I dont have to stall
(I dont have to wait)
Dont have to bide my time
(till I make my escape)
Cuz heavans in my heart
(I wont settle for less)
I will lift your name
(by the life I live)
Every moment is a chance
To let your light break through
This life (oh oh oh oh)
This life was meant to shine
This life (oh oh oh oh)
This life was meant to shine
Its in my heart
Its in my soul
Ill live everday
Just to make you known
Cuz this life
This life was meant to
Meant to shine
Hold your heads up high
This is our moment to rise
We were meant to shine
Not just survive
Hold your heads up high
This is our moment to rise
We were meant to shine
Not just survive
This life (oh oh oh oh)
This life was meant to shine
This life (oh oh oh oh)
This life was meant to shine
Its in my heart
Its in my soul
Ill live everday
Just to make you known
Cuz this life (oh oh oh oh)
This life was meant to
Meant to shine
Its in my heart
Its in my soul
Ill live everday
Just to make you known
Cuz this life (oh oh oh oh)
This life was meant to
Meant to shine
Oh oh oh oh
We were meant to shine!
Il testo THIS LIFE dei MERCYME è presente anche nell'album Generous mr. lovewell (2010)
MercyMe is an American contemporary Christian band formed in 1994 when two of the founding members, Bart Millard and Jim Bryson, were working overseas at a Christian mission. Once home they completed the line-up and began to build a fanbase. Although they self released a number of albums in the years leading up to 2000, they signed their first record label deal in 2001 and found immediate success with their first album Almost There and the accompanying single "I can Only Imagine". They never scaled the double platinum success of this first studio outing but subsequent albums performed consistently well. Their consistent Christian message has resulted in many appearances on the US Christian charts, though they have achieved minimal crossover into the mainstream.
