The Dayton Family è un gruppo hip hop hardcore proveniente da Flint, Michigan, USA. Il gruppo è composto da Bootleg, Shoestring e Backstabber (Matthew Hinkle). Hinkle è stato incarcerato dopo il rilascio del loro album di debutto *What's On My Mind?* ed è stato rilasciato recentemente. Durante la sua detenzione per l'album successivo *F.B.I.* (Fuck Being Indicted), hanno contribuito solo Shoestring e Bootleg. L'album presenta anche collaborazioni con Ghetto E, fratello di Bootleg, e Esham, rapper di Detroit che ha pionierato l'acid rap. Ghetto E è poi diventato parte del Dayton Family nell'album *Welcome to the Dopehouse*. Il gruppo prende il nome da una delle strade più pericolose di Flint, la Dayton Avenue.
