Agathodaimon è una band di black metal proveniente da Mainz, in Germania. Attiva dal 1993, il gruppo si distingue per un sound caratterizzato da atmosfere dark e melodie sinfoniche, influenzato anche dal gothic metal. Tra i brani più rappresentativi figurano "The Shadow of the Past", "Arise" e "The Serpent's Embrace". Agathodaimon ha pubblicato diversi album, tra cui "Songs of Sorrow" (1997), "Higher Than the Sun" (2000) e "The Sacred Alchemy" (2003). La band è considerata una delle più influenti del panorama black metal europeo.
