Megadeth è una band di thrash metal statunitense formatasi a Los Angeles nel 1983. Fondata dal chitarrista e cantante Dave Mustaine, ex membro dei Metallica, il gruppo ha rapidamente guadagnato fama per la sua musica aggressiva, complessa e politicamente carica. Mustaine si distingue per le sue riff chitarristici veloci e intricate, mentre i testi affrontano temi come la guerra, la società, la religione e la libertà individuale. Tra gli album più importanti figurano "Rust in Peace" (1990), considerato un capolavoro del thrash metal, e "Countdown to Extinction" (1992), che ha raggiunto il successo commerciale.
