Sun Kil Moon è un progetto musicale statunitense fondato nel 2002 da Mark Kozelek, già noto per il suo lavoro con i Red House Painters. Il nome del gruppo è un omaggio al pugile sudcoreano Moon Sung-Kil, una grande passione di Kozelek che ha ispirato diverse canzoni. Sun Kil Moon si distingue per la sua musica introspettiva e malinconica, caratterizzata da testi poetici e melodie delicate. Kozelek canta in inglese con un'espressione vocale profonda e rauca, spesso accompagnato da chitarra acustica e pianoforte. Tra i brani più rappresentativi figurano "Carissa" , "This Is The Sound Of Our Love", e "Between the Bars". L'album di debutto del gruppo, "Ghosts of the Great Highway", risale al 2003.
