Florence and the Machine è il nome d'arte di Florence Welch, cantautrice britannica nata nel 1986. Il progetto musicale vede la collaborazione con altri artisti che accompagnano la sua voce in un sound caratterizzato da influenze indie rock, folk e soul. Il debutto del gruppo risale al 2009 con l'album "Lungs", accolto con grande successo dalla critica e dal pubblico. Tra i brani più rappresentativi si ricordano "Dog Days Are Over", "Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up)" e "Shake It Out". Florence and the Machine ha vinto numerosi premi, tra cui un Brit Award per il miglior album britannico nel 2010.
