Brother Ali, pseudonimo di Ali Newman (nato Jason Newman), è un rapper e produttore discografico statunitense noto per le sue performance energiche e i testi profondamente politici e spirituali. Nato a Minneapolis, Minnesota, nel 1977, ha iniziato la sua carriera musicale negli anni '90, collaborando con artisti locali come Atmosphere e Slug. Nel 2003 ha pubblicato il suo album di debutto, "Shadows on the Sun", che ha ricevuto ampi elogi per le sue tematiche sociali e musicalità innovativa. Ali è un attivista sociale impegnato nella lotta contro la discriminazione razziale e l'oppressione.
