Simple Minds è un gruppo musicale rock britannico formatosi a Glasgow nel 1977. Considerati tra i più rappresentativi e influenti degli anni Ottanta e Novanta, hanno venduto circa 60 milioni di dischi in tutto il mondo. Il loro sound si evolve dal post-punk iniziale verso sonorità più sintetizzate e melodrammatiche, con un'enfasi sulla voce potente di Jim Kerr. Tra i brani più celebri figurano "Don't You (Forget About Me)", colonna sonora del film "The Breakfast Club", "Alive and Kicking" e "Belfast Child". Album importanti includono "New Gold Dream (81-82)" e "Sparkle in the Rain". I Simple Minds hanno collaborato con artisti come Eurythmics e Johnny Marr, influenzando generazioni di musicisti rock.
