Lou Reed (Lewis Allan Reed; 2 marzo 1942 – 27 ottobre 2013) è stato un cantautore, chitarrista e poeta statunitense. Considerato uno dei pionieri del rock sperimentale e della musica punk, Reed ha raggiunto fama internazionale come frontman dei Velvet Underground negli anni '60. Dopo la dissoluzione del gruppo, ha intrapreso una carriera solista di grande successo, esplorando temi controversi come l'eroina, la sessualità e la marginalità sociale. Tra i suoi album più importanti figurano "Transformer" (1972), "Berlin" (1973) e "Street Hassle" (1978). Reed è stato un artista provocatorio e controverso, ma anche un poeta raffinato e un musicista di grande talento. Alcuni dei suoi brani più rappresentativi sono: 'Walk on the Wild Side', 'Heroin', 'Perfect Day'.
