Looking at the real world, who we are as people, feeling unfamiliar

This world got me spinnin' in my chair
News cast got me sick, fist swinging at the air
Information overload, aimed from the overlords
I keep my head on a swivel, never overboard

Came back from tour, got diagnosed with pre-diabetes
That's too much partying, had to slow down the drinking
Meditation saved my life, I started reading
A book every two weeks, had to change my eating
Had to change my routine, had to stop the edies
Everyday I'm getting up but not getting ready
For the world, for myself, for my thoughts
When I was overseas I felt like something was off
I felt like I was performing at my shows
Reliving all of the torment that I know
Giving the crowd all the energy I had
But when I left the stage I was feeling worse than bad
We rehearsed these raps, the stories that we know
Destroy us as we grow
They collect music soul
What we think and eat is what will make us
My doctor surprised that I'm alive
I'm just grateful when I wake up
