George Michael, all'anagrafe Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou (Londra, 25 giugno 1963 – Londra, 25 dicembre 2016), è stato un cantante britannico di musica pop, rock, soul e R and B. Con circa 100 milioni di dischi venduti, è uno degli artisti musicali britannici di maggior successo, sia in patria che all'estero. Inizialmente membro del duo pop Wham!, ha intrapreso una fortunata carriera solista nel 1987 con l'album «Faith», vincitore di due Grammy Awards negli Stati Uniti (come artista R and B, pur essendo bianco). Il disco è stato accompagnato da una tournée mondiale di grande successo. Successivamente ha pubblicato altri album come «Listen Without Prejudice, Vol. 1» e «Older». Dopo un periodo dedicato all'esecuzione dal vivo di cover di brani di altri artisti (a causa di problemi legali con la propria etichetta) e una breve crisi personale dovuta in parte a scandali legati alla sua omosessualità, è tornato alla ribalta nel 2004 con l'album «Patience».
