Sting, pseudonimo di Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner, è un cantautore, polistrumentista e attore britannico nato a Newcastle upon Tyne nel 1951. Ha raggiunto la fama internazionale come bassista, cantante e principale autore dei The Police, gruppo musicale attivo dal 1977 al 1984. Dopo lo scioglimento del gruppo, Sting ha intrapreso una brillante carriera solista, pubblicando album di successo in diverse categorie musicali, tra cui pop, rock, jazz e world music. Tra i suoi brani più famosi figurano "Every Breath You Take", "Roxanne", "Shape of My Heart" e "Fields of Gold". Oltre alla musica, Sting ha anche recitato in film e spettacoli teatrali, dimostrando un talento versatile che lo ha consacrato come una figura di spicco nell'arte contemporanea.
