The National sono un gruppo musicale indie rock statunitense formatosi a Cincinnati nel 1999. La band è composta da Matt Berninger (voce), dai fratelli Aaron e Bryce Dessner (chitarra), Scott Devendorf (basso) e Bryan Devendorf (batteria). Conosciuti per le loro melodie malinconiche, testi introspettivi e arrangiamenti orchestrali, The National hanno raggiunto un'ampia popolarità negli anni 2000.
